In the reading room number 2 exhibited an illustrated book -exhibition "The people do not treasure more like it ..." devoted to the Day European Languages. One of the first events of the third millennium was the honoring languages, because along with the languages that are used equally in European institutions, there are 60 languages of national minorities.
Save them for the future - a task today. The European Commission and the Council of Europe signed the Declaration on multilingualism, which begins the following words: "Respect for cultural, linguistic diversity and language learning for all is a fundamental principle ... Can understand and use multiple languages helps citizens to realize their full potential as social and professionally."
The main task of this book-exhibition is to preserve and the develop Ukrainian language, improve cross-language and cross-cultural understanding, demonstration of riches linguistic and cultural diversity of foreign countries, encouraging study and development of various languages in school, throughout life .
